John’s Blog: Mugello Day One
Today has been a fairly positive day for me!
FP1 was a bit of a disaster and we had a couple of issues with the bike to begin with. But even once we got everything sorted I couldn’t get a feeling for the damp conditions with the bike and my session was spent chasing times that were still 3/4 seconds off the pace!
Free practice 2 was much better!! It was nice to be inside the top 10 with a P9 finish!
I had some help from team boss (Dirk Heidolf) between the sessions and together we came up with a good strategy for the session and this helped a lot!
The track was fully dry for the 2nd session and I got lots of laps in! The bike is feeling good and I’m confident going into FP3 and qualifying tomorrow.
The weather has changed once again and is now looking like it’s going to be dry so let’s see what it brings.
