Good start for John after the summer break at another new circuit

5 weeks after the home race at the Sachsenring circuit, the Racing Team Germany returns to action this weekend at the circuit of Indianapolis.

John McPhee struggled a little on day one to adapt to this circuit that is completely new to him and consequently couldn’t show his full potential. His lap times put him in 24th position overall for now.

#17 John McPhee
Today’s practice was quite difficult for me. Obviously this is a new circuit for me. Today, I mainly concentrated on learning the track. But it wasn’t easy. I have to take it step by step. We will use the time now to change some small things on the bike and to improve my riding style for this circuit.

Dirk Heidolf (Team Manager)
I’m happy with the first day of practice. Both riders show a lot of motivation after the summer break. For John it is a little bit difficult because it’s a new track for him and he’s not confident yet to push to the limit. We’ll change a couple of things on his bike to see if that helps. We’re not really satisfied to aim for the position that he’s at right now, there’s a lot of room for improvement. We’re hoping to be able to take a step forward tomorrow.
