Aragon GP: Day one report

 In News

After struggling in the past couple of weeks to show the same good performance he displayed earlier in the season, John McPhee was able to achieve a position that reflects his talent as a rider in Friday’s practice sessions at a hot Aragón circuit . Position 25 after the first free practice wasn’t enough, and so in the afternoon session he stepped up another gear and positioned himself in 16th place. Both John and his team mate Jack Miller raced with used engines, so one can expect to see more good results.

The bike setup will be optimised for Saturday’s sessions and the RTG rider has to try to get everything out of his bike he possibly can to have a good qualifying session.

John McPhee
“The first session was quite tough. Especially turn 2 and 3 were really difficult for me. The second practice session was much better. We tried the harder compound tyres and that worked really well. I gained more confidence and have a better feeling. We’ll keep this setup for tomorrow and hopefully we’ll have a good qualifying.”
