Difficult task on raceday for John McPhee
John surprised with a phenomenal 3rd place during the morning’s practice session… Once again it became clear that he copes well with difficult track conditions. Unfortunately he couldn’t repeat this good performance in qualifying and has to start tomorrow’s race from position 27. He is hopeful that he can regain some positions during the race.
John McPhee
“Free practice 3 was a really good session. We were able to make some steps forward in wet conditions and I felt really good on the bike. It felt nice to finish practice towards the top end of the time sheet. Unfortunately qualifying was a disaster. The bike and everything else was fine. But I didn’t really have a strategy. I had to ride on my own for the entire practice. During the last couple of laps I wanted to try and get a good lap time, but I always hit much traffic out on track. I still think positive about the race, I know I can keep up with times from the front runners.”
