John McPhee was able to improve his ranking by several places in Qualifying for the Malaysian GP compared to yesterday’s FP1 and FP2 sessions.

In the morning’s free practice session he showed that he can handle difficult track conditions well, with the track ranging from wet to dry. Unfortunately he had a crash that cost him a lot of time and he couldn’t make as much use of the session as he would have liked. He qualified in 22nd position and hopes to be able to finish in the points in tomorrow’s race.

John McPhee
“I had hoped for a better grid position for tomorrow, but I’m still positive about the race. Unfortunately I caught a lot of traffic on my two fastest laps, otherwise it could have had a better result. But I have a good feeling about tomorrow and hope for mixed conditions.”
