John happy to pull in more points from 13th place in Jerez
Unfortunately John couldn’t properly capitalise on his 9th place grid slot when he lost a couple of places at the start of the Spanish GP. He dropped down to eighteenth place and wasn’t really able to make up many positions during the race, caught in a tight, battling group.
He fought in the second group through the entire race, and eventually crossed the finish line in thirteenth place, most crucially bringing home important points.

“The first lap I got caught up with some other riders and this caused me to drop some positions. After some laps I was back in 17th and started fighting my way through. My pace felt good and I was happy with the feeling from the bike. But while trying to catch the front guys I still had to fight with other riders for my position. Overall, it was a disappointing finish but all the same I am still happy to at least get some points. For LeMans I will come back fighting for a better result.”
