Strong showing for John on day one at Le Mans
Although John McPhee initially remained below his own expectations with a sixteenth place in FP1 – it was nonetheless a very positive day at Le Mans in the end.
In session two, the Scottish rider immediately set the fastest time and was able to hold on to the top spot for quite a while before some riders overtook him during the last third of the session.
John finished the day an overall seventh.
“I´m feeling good after today´s free practice sessions. I made good progress in FP2 and we managed to get a better feeling from the front, which is really important for me. I think we can have a good day tomorrow.”
