John McPhee unfortunate to be caught out by Qualifying weather
It was a tough day at the office for John McPhee today, when he fell victim to unlucky timing in the Qualifying session where he was unable to put in properly competitive laps after conditions deteriorated in a mixed session.
This was particularly unfortunate given his progress in the morning’s FP3.
Also John had problems with the setup during qualifying and when the rain arrived, time was running out for him. He’ll start the race tomorrow from 28th place.

“Today we made good progress in FP3. I had a good feeling and I was comfortable. But qualifying was a little bit of a disaster. I had some problems. I went back to the pits immediately. I went back out one lap before the rain came. It was bad timing. For tomorrow we will try to improve, but there is a lot of work to do.”
