Positive first day at Brno for John McPhee
Today’s first practice sessions tended to be cautiously handled by all classes as weather conditions changed through the day – partly dry, partly bright, partly rain…
John spent the day working on race setups and overall pace, and was able to keep high positions throughout; running as high as second early in FP2 before settling in 10th.
Tomorrow brings forecasts of possible further rain.

“I’m very happy with the progress so far.
The bike felt good from the start with little changed from our base settings. I wasn’t trying to chase slipstreams yet, we focused on doing consistent fast times to get some data and an idea of tyre wear. As it turned out we were comfortably on the pace so I feel pleased with that.
We were lucky to miss the rain which started just after our second session but the forecast is for rain tomorrow, so we’ll have to take our chance with that.”
