For the riders from the Saxoprint – RTG squad, the first practices were mostly there to improve the setup of the bikes.

Both riders – John McPhee and teammate Efren Vazquez – are feeling very confident on the bikes, and that’s really important. For tomorrow, they have to improve their riding – styles, but are optimistic for FP3 and Qualifying.

The positions today weren’t at the front of the pack – John placed 11th overall, but little separates many of the top riders in the class at this stage.

John is just 0.6 seconds behind the fastest – but tomorrow he will have have to push further for the goal of the first couple of rows of the grid.

John McPhee:
“I think today was an okay start in the week-end. We feel very confident on the bike and we don’t have so much stress now for tomorrow, because we knew the biggest improvement is to come from myself. Overall, the bike feels very good and I feel quite confident for tomorrow. The race is going to be quite tight, but I hope we will find ourselves with a good starting-position tomorrow.”
