John McPhee lines up on front row of Motegi grid
Young Brit John McPhee delivered an excellent result in today’s qualifying for the Moto3 round of the Japanese GP at Motegi.
After a mediocre practice day yesterday, he was able to make the bike work for him today and rode his way onto the front row. A well-deserved result for John, who has been strong already throughout the whole season.
But at the end the race tomorrow is what counts. He knows he needs to be clever tomorrow, then he will be able to ride in the front and to gain maximum advantage from his qualifying position.
“I am really happy to secure my first front row. The feeling going into today was a little bit nervouse, because we had some trouble yesterday. I was not so fast. But at the end I am really happy with the result. It is a really good feeling. I am very happy. I have a very good feeling on the bike. Going from the front row is an advantage for the race. But at the end the race tomorrow is what counts. We need to be a little bit clever to have a good race.”
