John McPhee looking at further improvements ahead of Argentine qualifying
The opening practice sessions for the Argentinian GP got underway today at the Rio Hondo circuit.
Unfortunately SAXOPRINT RTG rider John McPhee was not able to pull together a fast enough performance to keep him near the top of the timesheets and finished FP1 in thirteenth.
In the afternoon session, whilst Danny Kent pulled away at the top, John and teammate Alexis Masbou were stuck further down the pack – and in the end after changes in the pits, John finished the second session in 26th place.
There will be more work on the bike to get the most from it through FP3 and into Qualifying tomorrow and John remains optimistic.
John McPhee
“Today the feeling was not so bad. The bike was basically feeling ok and everything isn’t working so bad. So – in the end I am a little bit surprised did we are so far from where we should be in terms of position – even though the lap time itself is quite ok. I am sure we can improve some more and I can also change something on my riding style. I am sure tomorrow we will be better.”
