John McPhee will start the Argentine GP from the seventh row in 19th place – disappointing after a much stronger 5th position in FP3.

The young Scot continued trying a few different bike setups on Saturday as well as trying to adjust his own riding style to make as many improvements as possible, but when it came to Qualifying itself his efforts were frustrated further by traffic, and by not being able to repeat the day’s earlier stronger running.

The best news is that John is, despite his position, not far off the pace of the front runners – so it will be his aim to make the best start possible in the race and to try and cut his way through the midfield.

“Today in the free practice we made a good improvement. We did not make too many changes on the bike. It was just my riding style. Alexis and me worked quite well together. For the qualifying practice though I just did not find a good way. Therewere always big groups. Alex and I did not manage to ride together. Nineteenth on the grid is not our level. But this happens. Tomorrow for the race we will see what we can do.”
