John McPhee aiming for Assen points after difficult qualifying

The Qualifying session for tomorrow’s Assen TT didn’t live up to the expectations of yesterday’s free practices, with SAXOPRINT RTG rider John McPhee finding himself in the 23rd slot on the grid.

Having been aiming to keep yesterday’s momentum, the young Scot was unable to secure a spot anywhere in the front rows – as he and his teammate once again both struggled with the Honda.

Tomorrow’s key aim will be to start well and push himself up and hopefully into the points.

John McPhee: P23 (+1460):
“The position from the qualifying is really not were we want to be. It was a difficult session. We made nothing wrong. We kept pushing and tried to do the time. We went our fastest time from the whole weekend. But today It was not enough. For the race tomorrow it is a hard starting position. We will see what happens in the race.”
