Positive start for John at team’s home race
There was a good step forward today for John during the opening practice sessions for the weekend’s German GP at Sachsenring.
The SAXOPRINT RTG rider made most progress in FP2 where he took second position at one point, 0.721 seconds behind session leader Danny Kent.
By the end of the session he had fallen back to 9th – nonetheless a solid top ten placing from which to progress to tomorrow’s Qualifying.
John McPhee: P9 (+1129):
“Free Practice Two which much stronger than free practice one. We made some small steps and the laptime is better. At the end of the session we tried to change something to get more grip. But we went to the wrong direction so I was not able to improve again. But for now the feeling is not so bad. Hopefully we can find something more for tomorrow. Than we can have a good day.”
