John to start from 12th grid spot at home race

SAXOPRINT RTG rider John McPhee has continued to build on his progress across the weekend at Silverstone, with a solid FP3 this morning followed by qualifying in twelfth this afternoon.

John – enjoying the support of the home crowd – waited until near the end of qualifying to get his best lap in and secure a decent starting position for tomorrow’s race.

He starts from P12 on the fourth row of the grid, alongside Brad Binder and Fabio Quartararo – and will aim to assert himself straightaway to make the most of the position and to move towards the front.

John McPhee: P12 (+1516):
“We had a positive day overall. It was nine place in the free practice and then the P12 in qualifying. I think for tomorrow we can fight for the front positions. I am very excited to ride in front of my own fans.”
