John starts Misano weekend with 18th in Friday practice sessions

The Misano weekend started under sunny skies and in good conditions for the Moto3 riders, although for John McPhee – and teammate Alexis Masbou – it was once again a frustrating affair.

In the morning sessions they both suffered problems with their bikes and setups, and in the afternoon session they were struggling to make up for the disruption.

John eventually placed 18th, ahead of teammate Masbou (26th), but is under no illusions about the problems encountered thus far – and the ground they need to make up.

John McPhee: P18:
“Overall it was a difficult day for us. In the end we were a little bit closer but still to far away from the front, to be happy with this session. We had some problems with the bike in the First Free Practise and it was difficult to find a good rhythm. In the Second Free Practise we were closer to the front, but we are still 1.4 seconds away, so we have some work to do for tomorrow.”
