Despite good conditions for Saturday’s FP3 and Qualifying sessions at Motegi, John McPhee struggled trying to get a good grid position, and despite all his efforts lines up in 24th position for tomorrow’s race.

Having improved to a degree in the FP3 session he was unable to take any kind of advantage through into Qualifying itself, and despite feeling good about his overall lap times – 1.484 off 1st position – he admits it is going to be a tough race, but will fight for all the positions he can.

John McPhee P24 (+1.484):
“It really wasn’t the qualifying I was hoping for position. I managed to improve the laptime in FP3. Then in the qualifying we improved the feeling from the bike a lot. In the end it was a little bit difficult. I’ve done the laptimes alone and felt good, but lost to much time from the slipstream. It is going to be a difficult race tomorrow but I am sure we can indeed make up some positions. “
