Solid start to Australian weekend for John McPhee

The opening day of practice for the Australian Grand Prix at Phillip Island proved a solid and promising one for SAXOPRINT RTG rider John McPhee.

In mixed and varying conditions, the young Scot took his bike round the iconic circuit just 1.163 seconds adrift of the day’s fastest lap time posted by Miguel Oliveira.

The overall handling of the bike seems good to John, whose main concern at this stage is to get more speed form the Honda.

John McPhee: P15 (+1163):
“I am feeling quite happy with everything. For sure we have some small things we need to improve, but today the biggest problem that the speed from the engine, so we need to look at this till tomorrow. I think we made some good progress and I’m feeling confident for tomorrow. “
