John crashes out in Jerez fightback
Whilst bright skies above the world famous Circuito de Jerez shone over the race day, John McPhee and the new Moto3 team Peugeot Motocycles SAXOPRINT endured a disappointing outcome of round four.
John crashed out of the race following a difficult start, whilst he was recovering well and closing the gap to the top 20 riders in a hard-fought charge.
The series now heads into a two weeks break before Peugeot Motocycles SAXOPRINT faces its biggest event of the year with the French Grand Prix in Le Mans.
#17 John McPHEE – DNF (World Championship position 18th, 9 points):
“I’m so sorry for my team to crash out of the race today. But I pushed as hard as possible to try to make a good result to comeback from far down on the grid. In the end it was really difficult for me because I had some small problems with the gearbox again so overall it was a difficult task to go much faster. Nevertheless, we will continue to work and push harder to improve for Le Mans where we hopefully experience a stronger weekend in two weeks’ time. Sorry again for my team, today it was my mistake.”
