This weekend’s Grand Prix de France marks the biggest event this year for Peugeot Motocycles SAXOPRINT as the newly formed Moto3 outfit is going to race in front of their home crowd at the legendary Bugatti Circuit in Le Mans.

Day one of practice started in bright skies whilst some clouds darkened the sky at lunch time but most important the weather remained stable with dry conditions during both sessions today.

John McPhee had a relatively positive day as he felt best ever aboard his bike this afternoon even though the talented Scotsman set the 21th fastest lap time overall today after John improved by somewhat less of one second in comparison to the opening session.

Moto3 action continues Saturday morning with the final free practice session. Qualifying practice is set to get underway at 12:35 pm to decide the starting grid for Sunday’s race in France.

#17 John McPHEE (FP1: P21 – 1´45.715 (17/18) / FP2: P24 – 1´44.655 (9/13)):
“I think it was a positive day overall because the bike improved from the last race to now. So we were able to try some different things with the setup, which has brought positive steps too. At halfway point of free practice two I felt really confident with the bike but we tried something else which wasn’t a great deal at all. However, now it’s time to try things like this and till tomorrow we will try to find out the best compromise for the settings. Anyway, I think in general we’re not so far away after day one at the team’s home race which obviously is the most important thing.”
