Frustrated John looks to raceday fightback after tough Misano Qualifying
Sunny and hot weather didn’t play a role when the Peugeot Motocycles SAXOPRINT riders John McPhee and teammate Albert Arenas endured a disappointing qualifying session today in Misano. Neither rider could match their pace either to improve their lap times respectively in comparison to the free practice sessions.
Scottish rider John McPhee wasn’t able to show his potential and that one of the Peugeot Moto3 machine. But the 22-year-old rider from Oban remains confident for the race even he faces a big challenge to recover from P29 on the grid as he has nothing to lose.
Time schedule for this race day returns to the more usual one, which sees the race start for the Moto3™ Gran Premio di San Marino at 11:00 am with a 23 laps distance.
#17 John McPHEE, Grid position 29th – 1´44.292 (16/16):
“I’m really annoyed about today’s outcome because it’s not our level to be down this far. What we can see from the timesheet, for any reasons it seems that this track doesn’t working so good for the Mahindra and Peugeot bike. It was difficult to do much more because I was riding at a level where it’s hard to go any faster. It doesn’t really matter what we change, we couldn’t find a decent lap time. For sure we need to try something going back tomorrow because we have nothing to lose. I keep focussed and try to make the best result possible tomorrow.”
