John concludes Jerez pre-season testing happy with progress
The official Moto3 tests in Jerez finished positively for both riders of the CIP-Green Power Team, John McPhee and Makar Yurchenko.
Despite the mixed weather conditions during tests, CIP-Green Power team declared itself satisfied with the riders’ results and is determined to start a Moto3 Championship adventure positively with its first race in Qatar.
Both CIP-Green Power riders finished Test Day 3 in Jerez hitting the Top-5 goal on a wet track. Yurchenko ended the third day in 4th position and John on 5th respectively.
John finished three day testing in 19th place overall on the CIP-Green Power KTM, with his best time of 1:47,985, and a strong motivation to improve and battle for front rows in Qatar.
John McPhee #17:
“This third test in Jerez was the first test that we’ve done with proper laps on the bike. It was not easy with the weather conditions this year, and I was never on KTM bike before, so making lots of laps is important. Finally, we’ve done lots of work on pace setting and we have a clear way on how to work further. We are only 1 second from the front, and when we arrive to Qatar we have a track that challenges everyone, and we will find the way to fight for podiums as we’ve done for the last years”.
The first stage of MotoGP World Championship will take place at Losail Circuit, Qatar, March 16-18.
