John’s Blog: Positive vibes as we head into the second half of the season
Well, things are much more positive going into the second half of the season.
I’m really enjoying riding the KTM and the team are working well together. All this is now giving us the results we need and I’m hoping the rest of the season I can climb the championship points table.
Things are also looking good for the future and I will give you news on that as soon as I can, but for now I must focus on this seasons performance.
We started this year a little on the back foot with very few test laps before Qatar and that made it difficult to be on the pace with a new bike.
Moto3GP is now extremely competitive, within thousands of a second, you need to be on the limit every time you step on the bike and can’t afford to be playing catch up. So if you and the team haven’t yet found where those limits are, switching to a new bike, that’s tough.
But now, with some good race laps and a couple of days testing under my belt, we’re starting to get the best from the KTM and I don’t see why I can’t fight at the front for the rest of the season.
Alain and the CIP Green Power guys are a good bunch and it would be great to give them some better results after all their hard work.
We start back at Brno, a circuit I enjoy with happy memories of my first World Championship win. I’m really pleased Mauri, my chief engineer is back with us again fit and well after his stay in hospital. I’m looking forward to another tough but enjoyable race.
Thanks as always for all your support and the many messages you send,
They mean a lot and are always appreciated!
