John’s Blog: 2019 Starts here!
Greetings from a warm and sunny but windy Valencia, where testing starts tomorrow. It seems as good a time as any to just share my thoughts on the season past and how things are lining up for next year.
Overall my 2018 season has felt like it’s been a bit up and down, with some tough times but definitely some strong positives in there too.
With only two podiums and four front row starts we managed to get some good results – and ran many races we can be proud of, but have probably had more than our fair share of bad luck across the season too.
Riding a KTM in Moto3 was a learning curve in itself but I was happy to be able to adapt to the bike reasonably fast, with the assistance of a great crew at CIP.
And so now the new challenge is here, joining with the impressive SIC empire that runs across all MotoGP categories – a team that I’m happy to be a part of, riding alongside Ayumu Sasaki and with a great crew onboard. It will also be nice to be back on a Honda, a bike that I know well and have got some great results on in the past.
So now we’re at Valencia with the new squad prepping everything for the test tomorrow. I’m really looking forward to it and can’t wait to get started. 2019 starts here and I’m really excited for it.
Thanks as always for your support,
