John finds improvements at Barcelona test
Just days on from the team’s first victory in the Moto3 World Championship, courtesy of rider John McPhee, PETRONAS Sprinta Racing continued their work on Tuesday and Wednesday at the Barcelona-Catalunya Circuit in Spain. John and team-mate Ayumu Sasaki participated in a private test, improving the setup of their bikes over the course of more than 120 laps apiece.
John carried over his good form from the French GP at the test, working with the same base setup as at Le Mans. The PETRONAS Sprinta Racing rider focused his work on trying out small modifications to the bike geometry, as well as different setups for the front fork and rear shock.
The next round of the 2019 Moto3 season will be the Italian GP, held at Mugello from May 31st-June 2nd.

“I’m very happy. We have had two very productive days here in Barcelona. We haven’t changed too much in terms of our setup from Le Mans, instead focusing mainly on my riding, changing small things to improve my feeling even more. I think we have taken a good step forward; I was able to set good times, but the most important thing is that we ran a very good pace with used tyres. After a great weekend like we had at Le Mans, it’s always good to confirm your good feeling, and that is what we have done over these two days at the Barcelona-Catalunya Circuit. Now I’m looking forward to the Italian Grand Prix.”
