Solid start for John at Aragon
PETRONAS Sprinta Racing’s John McPhee got the Gran Premio de Aragon weekend off to a solid start, ending the opening day of practice in eighth. Full of confidence about what Sunday’s race at MotorLand Aragon will bring for them, John is already raring to go racing.
John backed up his Misano podium with another day comfortably dicing for top honours at Aragon, showing his consistency with a series of fast laps in both of the day’s sessions. Feeling at home on the bike as he and his team continue their strong run of form, he’s adamant that even tomorrow’s forecast rain won’t upset his chances of a strong qualifying position.
Moto3 returns to track tomorrow at the Gran Premio de Aragon, with practice starting at 0900 local time (1500 Malaysian time) and qualifying at 1235 local time (1835 Malaysian time), ahead of the 19-lap race at MotorLand Aragon on Sunday.

“It’s nice to arrive at another circuit and continue the strong form once again. Aragon is a track where I’ve generally ridden well in the past, so to turn up and be fast means we’ve reached our targets. It looks like FP3 will be wet tomorrow so FP2 was a mini qualifying session, and we had to be inside the top fourteen, so that’s another target reached. If we had to race now I’d be comfortable that I’d be back in the podium battle, so with another day under our belts to get the bike 100% perfect I’m certain we’d be very competitive. We have a really good base setting now and can arrive at every circuit and be fast, so I’m confident in whatever conditions we find tomorrow.”
