PETRONAS Sprinta Racing’s 2020 campaign is now officially underway after the team revealed their livery for this year earlier today along with John McPhee and teammate Khairul Idham Pawi at the Circuito de Jerez – Ángel Nieto, to help kick off the start of the three-day test.

As one of the most experienced riders on the Moto3 grid, John starts the 2020 season as a genuine title contender. The Scot had an incredible 2019 racking up two pole positions, one fastest lap and three podium finishes, which also includes the team’s first win (France).

For 2020, PETRONAS Sprinta Racing also welcomes new sponsors Essens and their Flymeto brand, Yasuni, PBR and Tommy Hilfiger Eyewear and look forward to a successful year together. The squad will now focus on the current three day test in Jerez, before action moves to Qatar for the final pre-season test (28 February-01 March) ahead of the first round of the year (06-08 March).

John McPhee
“I had many great races in 2019 that I can be happy about. My focus now is to improve at the races where I wasn’t as strong; if I can improve those then I believe we can have a great year. Continuing with the same team is a fantastic opportunity for me. It’s the first time in my career where I have had everything the same including team, bike and team personnel. I feel like this will be invaluable for us to hit the ground running and continue with our strength of last season.”
