John in the points on debut weekend with D34G Racing

John McPhee has wrapped up his maiden racing weekend aboard Team D34G Racing’s Ducati Panigale V2 955 with a promising thirteenth place finish in race two, which was red flagged during the final lap due to Tuuli’s high-speed crash at MotorLand Aragón. The Scottish rider was exchanging positions with Vostatek for twelfth place as the encounter draw to an early close, leaving McPhee no room for one final attack.

Today’s result is a confidence boost for the #17, who crashed out of Saturday’s opening encounter during lap two at turn five, after the Superpole had placed him on the 19th spot of the grid. John will make the most of the experience gathered in his maiden racing weekend with the team and the bike and will get ready for the Portuguese Round, taking place next weekend at Portimão’s Autodromo Algarve.

#17 JOHN MCPHEE
“Overall, I had a great first weekend with the D34G team. I really enjoyed riding their V2 and felt like we made good progress with the few laps we had. I’m sorry to my team for the race one crash, I didn’t get a good jump off the line but was then working hard to recover positions. I made up six places in the first lap but unfortunately ran wide on lap two and had a strange crash, but it was my mistake. Today’s race two was very valuable to me to gain the experience and to understand the bike more. My late race pace was strong, and I know which areas I can improve which is positive going forward. A huge thanks to Davide and all the team for their expertise in making the weekend as smooth as possible, let’s see what’s possible next week in Portimão!”
